Monkey Puzzle
|
This week, we will be reading the story Monkey Puzzle and using this story to support our Maths and Literacy learning.
In Maths today, we will be focusing on: Showing interest in shapes by sustained construction, talking about size: We will independently: Match Animals to their young, developing language to describing size. Today is Sunday and it’s our first day of home learning. Today, we will look at some pictures of and see if they are the same or different. How are they different? We will be using the language of size accurately, big and small. We can use connectives to compare and say, "The elephant is big and the kitten is small." Can you match the big animal to the small animal on the worksheet below. You could also look around your home and sort all the small things together and the big things together. Please send me a picture of you matching the animals on Dojo and if you sorted things that are big or small in your house Challenge: Can you draw a picture of a big/small animal? Can you find things that are medium? Don’t forget to check Education City and complete the set classwork for this week. |
Your creative activity: Build a Bear cave
Do you remember what happened in the story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt? I am going to build a bear cave using things that I can find around my home. Have a look at what i am going to use (chairs, cushions, blocks). Look at my bear cave. What can you see? I wonder if you can tell me what shape you see? I have a bear, where shall i put the bear? I am going to put the bear (on top, inside, under) Can you use positional language to say where you put your bears? I put my bear on top of my cushion, under my blanket and inside my treasure box. Can you make a bear cave? I would love you to send your teacher a video and then you can tell me what you used to make your cave and what shapes they are, are they squares or rectangles? You could even put your favourite toy ‘inside, under and on top of the cave’ and tell me where it is. I would love to see a photo or video on your portfolio. |

Dear Parents ,
We have listened to what you have said.
We know that some families need structure and some families need flexibility. Depending on your circumstances here is a timetable you might choose to follow. We have tried to have snack and lunch at the same time as other year groups so you can socialise as a family together.
Enjoy your learning 🙂
